The Haggis

Haggis – that icon of the Scottish Nation; lungs, heart and liver of sheep with a dash of blood stuffed into a sheep’s stomach! No wonder we’re always so bloody miserable.

You can take a haggis to water but you cannae drown the wee bugger.

If the haggis sees his shadow
We will have six more weeks of winter.
If he doesn’t see his shadow,
We will have an early spring.
(Folk Lore for predicting the weather that is used on the 25th of January, Haggis Day)
